Description
PT Temperature Pilot With Copper Bulb and Thermowell’s brass well isolation well isolates the copper sensing bulb from the process fluid. Sensing bulb can be removed by unscrewing union nut.
Union Hub & Isolation Well remain in place which allows the removal of the sensing bulb without having to drain the tank.
Controlling Temperature
PT-pilot is used for temperature control when steam is used on heating applications. The PT style pilot is a “solid liquid fill” design. It’s made up of a temperature probe connected by a length of capillary tubing to a bellows in the pilot valve.
When the temperature bulb is heated the liquid inside the probe expands the bellows and closes off the pilot valve. The opening and closing of the pilot controls the flow of steam thru the main valve; which maintains system temperature. PT-pilot controls temperature through a range of 60-300°F. An overheat protection bellows is incorporated into sensing bulb.
