High Temp Sensors with Triclamp

The PI22/PI23 series pressure sensors are designed for high-temperature applications in the food and beverage industry such as UHT (ultra high temperature) plants.
A 4-digit LED display, which is visible from all sides even at greater distances, facilitates set-up, maintenance and operation.
The sensors can not only be connected as 3- or 4-wire units but also as loop-powered 2-wire units. This reduces the wiring complexity in new installations and facilitates exchange in existing 2-wire connections.
Parameter setting is effected via the buttons on the sensor or via IO-Link, e.g. using a USB interface. The LINERECORDER SENSOR software is used to visualise, transfer and archive parameter sets.

  • Use in temperature ranges from -25…200 °C
  • Integrated clamp diaphragm seal with stainless steel membrane
  • All wetted parts made of stainless steel
  • Reduced wiring complexity when operated as two-wire current loop
  • Factory calibration certificate enclosed

Description

The most important element of the ceramic capacitive technology is the ceramic (Al2O3) measuring cell. After assembly, the ceramic cell element resembles a plate capacitor with a reference electrode and a measuring electrode placed 0.01 mm apart. The capacitance is inversely proportional to the distance between the electrodes. As pressure is applied, the distance changes by a small value and the capacitance changes proportionately. This signal is then converted into pressure by a microprocessor.

  • Robust direct sensing measurement technology
  • Eliminates possibility of contamination from diaphragm fill fluid
  • Long-term stability of ceramic cell design does not fatigue like stainless steel
  • Internal support construction creates very high pressure ratings
  • Ceramic cell is more resistant to abrasion, dents or dings that can create measurement offsets
  • Highest overload pressure rating, especially with dynamic pressure peaks
