Aseptomag® DDK Double-Chamber Valves

Main Components

Housing
Housings for double-chamber valves DDK are available with two, three or four connection ports. The valves are produced with standard butt-weld connections by default. Mixed connection port sizes as well as various aseptic pipe connections are available upon request.

Internal Assemblies

The double-chamber valve DDK includes an internal assembly with two valve seats (same as DK valve) and an internal assembly with one valve seat (same as AVBS valve). The larger seat (seat B) of the DK internal assembly contains a shrunk valve seat seal made of Tefasep®. The other two valve seats are available with a shrunk or screwed valve seat seal. In addition to the standard Tefasep® sealing, other material options such as PTFE are also available. The nominal diameter of the valve is determined by the larger valve seat (valve seat B) of the DK internal assembly.

Actuator
The double-chamber valve DDK includes two actuators. The standard version of both pneumatic actuators is designed as spring-closing / air-opening (NC). The actuator for the double-chamber internal assembly enables single seat lifting for both valve seats (seats A+B) as well as a full valve stroke (3 valve strokes in total). The actuator for the single-seat internal assembly allows doing a full stroke and a reduced stroke for venting the valve seat.

Clamp
Due to its solid construction, the GEA clamp enables a pressure stable and safe connection of the main components. The special design with three segments allows a service-friendly handling of the component, even under tight space conditions.

Side valves
Each of the two sterile chambers includes a steam inlet and an outlet valve by default. The fail-safe position (NC or NO) of both side valves can be chosen independently from each other. The outlet can be equipped with integrated temperature probe which enables temperature measuring in the sterile chamber. In addition, the outlet can be configured with a divert valve to directly apply a sterile media also to the drain side of the valve.

Feedback units
Aseptic double-chamber valves type DDK can be either equipped with open feedback units or T.VIS® feedback systems by default. Feedback units from third party suppliers can be mounted via special adaptors.

Aseptic Applications

For aseptic processes, the following areas have to be considered: Product sterilization, conveying and maintaining sterility, and filling under sterile conditions. Aseptic processes signify high-quality products and/or long shelf-life, produced for specific consumer groups. Besides classic UHT milk products, medical nutrition, baby food, aseptically produced beverages and applications within biotech belong to this hygienic class.
