About Media Containment Devices

Media containment devices are used as a protection from fugitive emissions possibly escaping through a warn valve stem packing.   By installing media containment devices, customers gain 2 additional stem packing seals along with a guague port which can be used to incorporate a pressure/temp sensor providing remote alerts if valve stem packing fails.

Media Contaiment devices can also be used in leiu of mounting brackets and couplers. This allows you to safely move actuators away from hot valves.  Several companies have also adopted media containment devices to increase the lifespan of valves. They will also allow for planned maintenance rather than emergency shutdowns.  Media containment devices can be used on most valves ½” – 12″
